Green Valley Farmer’s Market

Have you ever been to a Farmer’s Market?  If not, it’s time to try it out!   Certainly we have far greater opportunity to purchase non-GMO produce.  As of Dr. Mercola’s reading, ninety percent or more of all US-grown corn, soybeans,  canola, and sugar beets are genetically modified versions, which means that  virtually all processed food items contain at least one or more genetically  modified ingredients.  http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2012/01/31/monsanto-worst-company-of-2011.aspx?e_cid=20120131_DNL_art_1

Try this one for size…Community inspiring! Green Valley Farmer’s Market brings life to Green Valley Mall.

Reflexology found at Green Valley Mall prompts many to stop by for a “good old-fashioned foot rub”, more professionally know as Reflexology.

Have you seen people enjoying a foot reflexology treatment at the GV Farmer’s Market and wondered what it would do for you? The price is low, so why not slip off your sandals and try it out?
Carol Bushman of Relaxed Body Solutions works for relaxation and health. She won’t push too hard, just keep her apprised of your comfort level and you’ll be in complete control. Through reflexology, your foot will tell her the areas of your body that need further attention. No kidding. The ancient Chinese mapped the foot into sections. Each of these relate to your body’s organs. You’ll feel relaxed and invigorated after the treatment.

Bushman knows the ways of the body. She’s a Touch for Health instructor and trained in reflexology and layman’s applied kinesiology as well. She describes kinesiology (muscle testing) as, “a way of resourcing the body. We speak English,” she says, “our bodies talk through muscles. Kinesiology is a way of accessing this. When I want the body to talk to me, I use kinesiology.”

Bushman’s goal is to help people balance their bodies. A balanced body is one that rewards us with excellent health and well being, freedom from pain and mental fogginess, plenty of energy and, as a bonus, good posture.

Kinesiology reveals to Bushman which modalities will work best for a particular person, “I can tell through muscle testing… it either will or it won’t. There are no gray areas; it’s all black and white.” She uses a variety of treatments to tone, detoxify and relax the body in her office just outside Green Valley. Her tools for increasing health and energy, while tough on problems, are easy on people. Bushman stresses, “What works for one person will not necessarily work for another.”

“I show people the difference between ‘shelf products’ and others. My goal is to educate people, not so much to sell my own products.” She’s worried about the inclusion of propylene glycol, sulfates and paraffin (corrected in the GV News 7/22/09 as parabens – not paraffin) as ingredients, especially in shampoos, conditioners and lotions for the face and body. “Propylene glycol is an element of natural gas—how can that be good for skin?” she wonders.

She’d rather see ingredients that harmonize with the body, that work in resonance with it.

One of Bushman’s big concerns here in Green Valley is the high incidence of dehydration.
“I bet over 50 percent of the people I test are dehydrated. They’re not drinking enough water,” she says. She urges people to drink more water and is happy to test them for hydration, free of charge of course.

Bushman believes we’d all benefit “if we could just do healthy things for our bodies and not acquiesce to convenience and media advertising.”

Bushman says all her treatments are aimed at helping your body relax because, “Relaxation helps the healing journey.”

Green Valley Farmer’s (Summer) Market runs from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. every Wednesday at the Green Valley Village, Esperanza Boulevard and La Canada Drive.
